This is a 2004 Ford Expedition XLT with 200,146 miles, a 4.0-liter engine, and automatic transmission. It has a clean title, two previous owners, and has been a California vehicle its entire life.
The exterior is in generally good condition for its age and mileage, with no major dents or scratches. There is some clear coat peeling on the hood and roof, and the paint on the edges of the front bumper shows some wear. We have included pictures on our website so you can see these imperfections for yourself.
The interior has leather seating and room for up to seven passengers with the third-row seat. It is equipped with power windows and locks, an alarm system, air conditioning, and a heater. The previous owner installed an aftermarket radio with a backup camera. The radio is in place, but the backup camera is currently not working because the connectors are visibly damaged and may need to be replaced.
The tires are in good condition, and the vehicle also has fog lights, aftermarket-style rims, and a hood wind deflector.
Mechanically, the engine and transmission are running and operating as expected. However, there is an issue that we want to be very clear about before anyone comes to see the vehicle.
We originally had this Expedition priced at $4,999. During our inspection, we found that the vehicle can sometimes be difficult to start. Our mechanic diagnosed the problem as a damaged flywheel. Some of the flywheel teeth are broken, and depending on where the engine stops, the starter may not engage properly. This means the vehicle may require more than one attempt to start. The flywheel will need to be replaced.
Because of this issue, we have reduced the price from $4,999 to $3,500. We are selling it at a price that gives the buyer room to make the necessary repair. We prefer to explain the issue up front rather than have someone discover it after purchasing the vehicle.
You are welcome to test drive the Expedition, and you are also welcome to bring your own mechanic or have the vehicle inspected before purchasing. We encourage buyers to look over the vehicle carefully and make sure it is the right fit for them.
