2006 Honda Odyssey Touring

If you're looking for a cheap, reliable family minivan and don't mind a few cosmetic flaws, this 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring is worth a look. We believe in being upfront about what you're buying, so here's the good and the bad.

This Odyssey has a clean title according to the Carfax report and no accidents are reported. It has a 3.5L V6 engine and automatic transmission, and both work exactly like they should. It currently has 213,000 miles, which averages out to about 10,500 miles per year—right around normal use for its age.

Mechanically, it drives well. The tires are in good shape, the air conditioning blows cold, the heater works, and it comes loaded with many of the features that made the Touring model the top trim level. It has leather seats, factory DVD entertainment system, sunroof, heated front seats, rear climate control, second-row captain's chairs, and third-row seating, making it a great family vehicle.

Now for the imperfections.

Cosmetically, it's far from perfect. The passenger side front bumper and fender have damage from what appears to have been a minor impact. The bumper mounting bracket broke and the bumper has been secured back in place with screws. It is noticeable, and the passenger fog light is broken. The driver's side front bumper also has some scratches and a small dent near the fender. The rear bumper has scratches, and the liftgate has a dent near the Honda emblem. We have included detailed photos of every cosmetic issue on our website so there are no surprises when you come see it.

Inside, the van is in decent condition for its age. The gray leather front seats have tears from normal use, but they are covered with nice seat covers. The second-row captain's chairs have cracked leather but no tears, and the third-row seat mainly shows wear from child car seats over the years.

The only feature we consider not to be working properly is the power sliding doors. Sometimes they operate normally, and sometimes they don't. Rather than making promises, we're simply advertising them as not working correctly.

You're more than welcome to bring your own mechanic to inspect the vehicle before purchasing it. In fact, we encourage it. We'll also hand you the keys so you can take it on a proper test drive and decide for yourself. We think it's a solid van with plenty of life left, but we want you to make your own decision based on what you see and feel.

The price is $3,650 plus tax and registration fees. We believe the cosmetic damage and the sliding door issue have already been reflected in the price.
